Travis catapulted to instant popularity thanks to a certain infamous underwear ad campaign. From relative obscurity, his symmetrical features, attenuated body and accompanying bulge have been plastered on billboards and placed in magazines everywhere in the free world. He hails from a bucolic background on a farm 40km outside Echuca, Victoria, where he regularly milked cows.
The coveted slot of Calvin Klein poster boy is the most illustrious a male model could snare, it's the big kahuna of the glamour profession. It was the daring Calvin Klein underwear ad campaign that rocketed Travis Fimmel into the pantheon of international sex symbols. He became the instant talk of the town and stirred up controversy. Some countries banned the ads, reasoning that it was sexually suggestive and demeaning to men.
The ads made Travis the second in history to sign a 6 figure deal with Calvin Klein.
Like many, Travis has followed the trend of turning a modelling career into an acting one. He has starred in the short-lived WB television series "Tarzan" and is currently working on more acting projects.
